Preferred applicants should possess previous gravel production and an understanding of heavy equipment operation.
Strong commitment to safety a must.
Able to follow attendance policy.
Physical ability to shovel and rake asphalt, stone, dirt under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift 8-12 hours.
Attitude/cooperation: always maintaining courteous and professional matter with co-workers, customers and public.
Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required when necessary. Out of town/county work is required.
Ability to shovel and sweep designated area with attention to detail and emphases on craftsmanship.
Initiative to perform/assist with other positions for job completion.
Ability to adhere to PPE (personal protective equipment) policy.

Shoveling (dirt, asphalt or stone) and sweeping associated with heavy highway construction.
May be required to use power and/or hand tools needed to complete jobs within specifications.
Must be able to adapt and work in extreme weather temperatures.
The following motions will be required: stretching, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, twisting, throwing, walking, standing, carrying, climbing, reaching and squatting - these will occupy most of work day.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs for repetitious lifting while using proper lifting techniques.
Must have reliable transportation.
Must possess a valid drivers license.
Willing to train an individual with outstanding attitude and proven work ethic.
