Best Practices Utility Locating Card - This
card gives specific information about how to locate utilities
within the boundaries of the Michigan Best Practices Contract.
The contract runs exclusively for the benefit of MITA members
who have executed a limited power of attorney in regards to
the contract.

employees to understand the requirements and identify potential fall hazards.
MDOT Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices - An excerpt from
the Michigan Manual referencing Part 6 pertaining to construction and maintenance.
NUCA Spanish Pocket Guides: Contains common construction terms and phrases
along with the Spanish equivalent. Pocket Safety Guide (Spanish) has 22 construction
topics ranging from excavation, trenching and shoring, fall protection, signs,
signals, barricades and tunneling issues. Pocket Safety Guide (English) is the
English version of the Spanish Guide. MITA suggests that you order one English
guide for every 10 Spanish guides to be used as a reference for your foreman.
Rigging and Lifting Training Materials - These materials will help members
calculate weights of loads and demonstrate proper rigging procedures.

company’s specific needs upon request.
Tool Box Talks - Tool box talks have been designed with all of the information that your company will need in a five-minute session. They should be presented to employees by a qualified person such as a supervisor or foreman. These installments are periodically sent out with a sign in sheet attached.
