Got a pothole or a bumpy road you love to hate? Now, iPhone owners can use an app to submit photos of them for a chance at a prize.

A construction industry group unveiled the app today, saying it’s a way to highlight the poor condition of Michigan’s roads and the need for increased investment in transportation and infrastructure.

Photos chosen as finalists in the contest, dubbed Danger on Our Roads, will be uploaded to the Michigan Transportation Team’s “Fix Michigan Roads” Facebook page.

The public can then vote for the worst pothole, road or bridge in the state. The person who submits the winning entry will get $500 “to offset the cost of vehicle repairs incurred by motorists due to the poor condition of Michigan’s roads,” the organization said in a news release.

To download the app on your iPhone, go the Apple App store and search “Danger on Our Roads,” or visit www.dangeronourroads.com to learn more about the app.

Michigan residents who do not own an iPhone can send their pictures to info@dangeronourroads.com.

Photos must be submitted by Nov. 21 to be entered in the contest.
