Quality Control Errata

MDOT will be issuing errata to subsection 601.03.G of the 2003 Standard Specifications for Construction stating, "The Contractor is responsible for quality control for concrete on all projects according to Section 604."

This erratum will help clarify confusion between the Standard Specifications and MDOT's Construction Advisory 2005-10. CA 2005-10 states, "Although the contractor may or may not be responsible for quality assurance testing, the contractor is required to perform quality control testing for all concrete according to Section 604 of the 2003 Standard Specifications for Construction."

MDOT and local agencies have increased their attention to the QC plan requirements. If you haven't already created a QC plan, now is the time to act.
