MITA was recently informed that the FHWA will be performing project reviews during the 2010 construction season focusing on the following:

•Ensuring MDOT has adequate project staffing

•Appropriate work zone traffic control measures are being applied
•Project meets all ADA requirements
•Requirements of FHWA Form 1273 are being followed and that a copy of this document is physically placed in all subcontracts (hard copy).
•Verify MDOT has obtained all general material certifications from the contractor

Click here for a copy of the FHWA Form 1273.  This document is located in all federally funded MDOT project proposals and must be placed in all subcontracts involving federal funds.

Click here for a link to MDOTs current Material Source Guide.  Refer to this document for required material certification requirements.

In June 2010, a FHWA National Review Team will perform a review of MDOT projects focusing on contract administration, quality assurance, and DBE compliance.
