FSU Calls for Students Interested in the Transportation Industry

If you know of any freshman, sophomore, and/or Junior High Student who is considering a career in the transportation industry, be sure to inform them of this great opportunity.

During the week of August 4-10, 2013, Ferris State University is hosting a National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI) one-week residential program that has been designed for students to explore careers in the transportation industry.

During this one-week adventure the student will:

  • Experience highway design careers and meet with civil engineers.
  • Create concrete and asphalt materials used for transportation construction projects.
  • Experience highway construction careers and tour construction projects
  • Operate flight simulators and experience aviation career opportunities at Northwestern Michigan College in Traverse City.
  • Experience marine transportation traveling to Beaver Island situated in the pristine waters of Lake Michigan.
  • Engage in recreational activities and social functions with other outstanding students selected for the NSTI

This opportunity is free to participants.  Funding is generously provided by the Federal Highway Administration, the Michigan Department of Transportation, and Ferris State University.
