With demand from general contractors and the looming deadline for crane operators to be certified, MITA has teamed up with ATS Specialized Services out of Wisconsin to fulfill the needs of contractors.
Regulations currently in place require the use of a qualified rigger and a certified signal person when a lift takes place.
Operators must test on the type of crane that they will be operating. This training will certify on the use of lattice boom cranes.
ATS will help the student learn the written material and the skills needed to pass the written and practical exams.
Click here to download the application, or contact the MITA office to have it sent to you. THE DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS JANUARY 20, 2012, any applications received after that, will be denied. Student space is limited.
