The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA) is a statewide construction trade association that consists of nearly 600 Michigan companies representing construction disciplines such as road and bridge, sewer and water, utility, railroad, excavation and specialty construction throughout the state of Michigan.

WKAR's "Off the Record" featured an interview with MITA's Executive Vice President, Mike Nystrom, on January 20, 2012. This video ends with details regarding new bills that hopefully will be introduced in the Legislature in the next week or two.  The bills are expected to help increase funding to fix Michigan’s crumbling infrastructure.

Transportation restructuring package introduced this week in Lansing
During last week’s State of the State message Governor Rick Snyder referenced a comprehensive package of bills that would be introduced in the near future to address the inadequate infrastructure needs of Michigan.
 Updated Elected Official's Coffee/District Hours
Take 10 - 15 minutes to stop by your elected official's coffee/district hour and tell them to support House Bills 5298 - 5314 and Senate Bills 910 - 921.
 MITA Hosts Title VI Training Session
On February 22, 2012, MITA will host a Title VI Training Session titled “What Every Contractor Should Know About Title VI.” This MDOT provided training opportunity is being offered free of charge.
